Sometimes you need to ask, perhaps rhetorically, why is this even news to people? Surely it is common sense by now that if you heat up or cool down many plastics, there is a very high likelihood that the plastics will leach out in to the liquid?
Apparently not. Hopefully this article will draw attention to the blight on our earth that is the overuse of plastics in almost every aspect of our lives; an issue that has not even begun to be addressed.
The much greater issue that is not even alluded to in this article, is the culpability that companies producing these teabags, and the millions of other consumer products that are produced each year, that are having such a devastating effect on our environment.
Who is going to hold them accountable for creating such horrendously polluting products for profit? This issue is comparable to the appalling debacle of microbeads in cosmetic and hygiene products that quietly got swept under the carpet a few years ago.
These cosmetic and chemical companies produced billions upon billions of tiny polluting products that were directly washed into our waterways and ecosystem, but then were not required to clean up the environmental disaster or even pay any kind of compensation to go towards atoning for their crimes against the planet. Boycott these abhorrent companies until they make amends for their misdeeds!
