里茲螞蟻的英式搖滾天團清單

我曾經有很多年的時間極度著迷Britpop。英式搖滾有一種迷人的吸引力，一旦被捲入就會在裹面摸索蠻久的。

​我以前常在星期日到西門町的Tower唱片行，一待就是好幾個小時。我會花很多錢買CD，然後在家狂聽。當年有出CD隨身聽，一次只能帶一兩片CD出門，現在想起那個年代、聽見當年聽的音樂，內心常百感交集。當年基隆台北通車時我都是在聽下面這些樂團的音樂。推薦給大家。

其實，我的世界就是因為這些音樂打開的。我就是因為在20歲那年無意間聽到一個叫Th' Faith Healers的樂團，當年沒有Google，只有什麼藤之類的搜尋器，但我還是找到了很多資料，從此就決定我今日的人生－我去了歐洲、了解了一塊我以前從未接觸過的領土、最後用專科生的背景留學了英國。一切都是因為一種passion。

這是一些具有影響力的英國樂團－也就是有點老的英國搖滾團（不是boy band那種）。這些樂團都充滿版主個人品味，不喜者或品味特殊不以為然者請一笑置之。
學唱英文歌是一個學英文很棒又很有趣的方法。同學們可以去google自己喜歡歌曲的歌詞，學著唱，還可以增加以後去唱karaoke的歌庫（其實台北的KTV裏有很多英文歌，只是一般人都不太會去翻）。

Placebo (樂團名)- Special K, Every You Every Me (附上兩首很有名的歌)
Placebo are a British rock band from London, England. To date, they have released six studio albums, six EPs, and twenty-nine singles and have sold over ten million records worldwide.  這個樂團成立於1994年的倫敦。到目前為止，他們已經發過六張專輯，六張迷你專輯，29條單曲，在全世界賣了超過一千萬張唱片。（他們的風格受到美國另類搖滾樂團Sonic Youth影響，對我來說充滿了一種靡漫性的氛圍。主唱Brian Molko出身在布魯塞爾，androgynous－雌雄同體，音頻高，是個公開的嗨咔。真希望有一天可以看到他們的演唱會。）
 
Oasis - Champagne Supernova
Oasis were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1991. They have had eight UK number-one singles and eight UK number-one albums, and won fifteen NME Awards, nine Q Awards, four MTV Europe Music Awards and six Brit Awards, including one in 2007 for outstanding contribution to music and one for the best album of the last 30 years as voted by the BBC Radio 2 listeners; they have been nominated for three Grammy Awards. 這個樂團成立於1991年的曼徹斯特。他們有八條第一名的單曲以及八張第一名的專輯，贏過15次英國非主流的NME大獎，九次Q雜誌舉辦的Q Awards，四次歐洲MTV音樂獎及六次全英音樂獎，包含2007年獲得最佳貢獻以及BBC Radio 2聽眾票選30年來最佳專輯獎。他們也被提名三次葛萊美獎。（這大概是史上得獎最多的英國搖滾樂團了！）
 
As of 2009, the band have sold an estimated 70 million records worldwide. Also the band was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2010 for “Longest Top 10 UK Chart Run By A Group”. The band also holds the Guinness World Record for being the "Best band Britain has produced in the Last Decade" in the UK between the years 1995 and 2005, spending 765 weeks in the Top 75 singles and albums charts. ​

​2009年，Oasis在全球賣了七千萬張唱片。2010年被金氏世界紀錄列為「在英國排行榜上撐最久」的樂團。金氏世界紀錄也把Oasis列為「十年來英國最佳樂團」，他們在1995到2005之間，有765個禮拜蟬連在單曲榜及專輯榜上前75名。
 
 
Depeche Mode - It's No Good (我超愛超愛這MTV的！！超80年代的！)
註：這篇文章叫做「英國搖滾天團清單」，而這個團是「除了在台灣之外」全世界最有名的電音團若是人生能夠看到Depeche Mode的現場表演我真是死而無憾啊．．．每一張專輯的CD我都有！
Depeche Mode (pronounced /dɨˈpɛʃ/ də-pesh) are an English electronic music band formed in 1980 in Basildon, Essex. Depeche Mode have had 48 songs in the UK Singles Chart and twelve top 10 albums in the UK charts, two of which debuted at #1. According to EMI, Depeche Mode have sold over 100 million albums and singles worldwide, making them the most successful electronic band in music history. Q magazine calls Depeche Mode "The most popular electronic band the world has ever known". 這個樂團成立於1980年的英國靠南的Essex。他們有48條單曲登上英國的單曲榜，有十二張專輯擠入排行榜前十名，其中有兩張更是榮登第一名。根據EMI（百代唱片公司）的資料，Depeche Mode在全球賣出超過一億張單曲及專輯（Q音樂雜誌稱他們為「全世界最最受歡迎的電音團體」。（他們的主唱Dave Gahan的聲音實在是有夠有夠性感的！！！同一條歌我可以聽一千遍都不厭煩！！）
 
  
Muse - Starlight
Muse are an English alternative rock band from Teignmouth, Devon, formed in 1994. Muse are known for their energetic and extravagant live performances and their fusion of many music genres, including space rock, progressive rock,alternative rock, heavy metal, classical music and electronica. 這個樂團成立於1994年的英國尾巴的西南部城市Devon。他們一向以充滿精力又耗資不菲的現場表演聞名。他們的音樂融合多種風格，包含太空搖滾（像Pink Floyd那種）、重金屬、古典樂以及電子樂（我親眼看過Muse！而且是在2007年的中山足球場！不知為何這麼巨大的天團來到台灣，居然沒有人知道！！！Muse表演時現場小貓兩三隻，有點不敢相信！！） 
Muse have won numerous music awards throughout their history. They were also nominated for three Grammy Awards,of which they won Best Rock Album, for their fifth studio album The Resistance. Muse成軍以來得獎無數。被三次提名葛萊美獎，以他們的第五張專輯得到最佳搖滾專輯。
 
 
The Smiths - There is a light that never goes out
這首歌是美國indie film-500 Days of Summer裏收錄的好歌之一，大推薦這部電影！！
The Smiths were an English alternative rock band, formed in Manchester in 1982. Critics have called them the most important alternative rock band to emerge from the British independent music scene of the 1980s. 這個樂團成立於1982年的曼城（怎麼那麼多樂團都來自曼徹斯特？！那麼工業的城市）。樂評們稱他們為1980年代從獨立音樂浪潮中出頭的最重要的另類搖滾樂團。   

Although they had limited commercial success outside the UK while they were still together, and never released a single that charted higher than number 10 in their home country during their existence, The Smiths won a growing following, and remain cult and commercial favourites. The band broke up in 1987 and have turned down several offers to reunite since then. 雖然他們樂團還在的時候一直都沒有紅到外國去，也從來沒發過任何有擠入過英國排行榜前十名的單曲，但是The Smiths還是一直都有一群支持者，也一直都是怪咖、文青跟商人們的最愛。他們在1987年解散，至今未接受任何團圓的offer。
註：cult指的是喜歡大部份的人不喜歡的東西的人（好繞舌）。這些人喜歡另類的音樂、電影或穿著打扮。


 
New Order - Temptation (這條歌的MTV是樂團Joy Division的故事拍成的電影Control的片段，如果你喜歡Joy Division或是New Order一定要看這部電影！)
New Order are an English rock band formed in 1980. New Order was formed by the remaining members of Joy Division, following the suicide of vocalist Ian Curtis, with the addition of keyboard player Gillian Gilbert. 這個樂團成立於1980年。大部份團員來自Joy Division，在主唱Ian Curtis自殺之後，加入新的鍵盤手重新出發。

By combining New Wave and electronic music, New Order became one of the most critically acclaimed and highly influential bands of the 1980s. Though the band's early years were shadowed by the legacy and basic sound of Joy Division, their immersion in the early 1980s New York Cityclub scene increased their knowledge of dance music and enabled them to incorporate elements of that style into their work. The band's 1983 hit "Blue Monday", the best-selling 12-inch single of all time,[3] is one example of how the band transformed their sound. The band has often been acclaimed by fans, critics and other musicians as a highly influential force in the alternative rock, dance and rave music scenes.

Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart
Joy Division were an English rock band formed in 1976 in Salford, Greater Manchester. They rapidly evolved from their initial punk rock influences to develop a sound and style that pioneered the post-punk movement of the late 1970s. Despite the band's growing success, vocalist Ian Curtis was beset with depression and personal difficulties. 這個樂團成立於1976年的大曼城區。很快的，他們從本來的龐克搖滾發展成1970年代末期的後龐克搖滾先鋒。但雖然樂團越來越成功，主唱Ian Curtis卻被憂鬱症及人生上的困難所苦。

On the eve of the band's first American tour in May 1980, Curtis, overwhelmed with depression, committed suicide. After the death of Curtis, the remaining members continued as New Order, achieving critical and commercial success. 1980年五月，在他們生平第一場美國巡迴表演前夕，Curtis不堪憂鬱症折磨，上吊自殺了（我才剛看過以他們為故事而拍的電影Control，真是一個慘字）。Curtis死後，團員們改名為New Order，繼續得到商業上的大成功。
 
The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony
The Verve were an English rock band formed in 1989 in Wigan. Their commercial breakthrough was the 1997 album Urban Hymns and their single "Bitter Sweet Symphony", which became a worldwide hit. Soon after this commercial peak, the band broke up in April 1999, citing internal conflicts. 這個樂團成立於1989年的Wigan（曼城附近）。他們在1997年發的專輯Urban Hymns跟單曲Bitter Sweet Symphony為這個樂團帶來商業性的突破。Bitter Sweet Symphony成為紅遍全世界的勁歌（有舞曲版）。但在達到這個巔峰之後，The Verbe突然在1999年解散，據說是內部起鬨。

During their eight year split, Ashcroft dismissed talk of a reunion, saying: "You're more likely to get all four Beatles on stage". The band's original line-up reunited in June 2007, embarking on a tour later that year and releasing the album Forth in August 2008. In 2009, the band broke up for the third time. 在那八年的解散期間，主唱Ashcroft對於樂團重聚的說法駁斥說，「叫我們重聚不如叫Beatles四個人站在台上還比較快。」The Verve的原始團員在2007年重組，在2008年開始巡迴演唱並且發了專輯Forth。在2009，這個團第三度解散。 

Filter referred to them as "one of the tightest knit, yet ultimately volatile bands in history". 美國音樂雜誌Filter稱The Verve為史上最緊密的一個團體，但卻又是極度的不穩定且具爆炸性的樂團。
 
Radiohead - Creep
Radiohead are an English rock band from Abingdon, Oxfordshire, formed in 1985. They released their debut single "Creep" in 1992. The song was initially unsuccessful, but it became a worldwide hit several months after the release of their debut album, Pablo Honey (1993). 這個英國搖滾團於1985年的Oxfordshire成立。他們在1992發行他們的首張單曲Creep。這首歌一開始並沒有很成功，但數個月之後，Radiohead發了第一張專輯Pablo Honey，這首歌成為全世界受歡迎的勁歌 (hit song)。

Radiohead's popularity rose in the United Kingdom with the release of their second album, The Bends (1995). Radiohead's third album, OK Computer (1997), propelled them to greater international fame. OK Computer is often acclaimed as one of the landmark records of the 1990s. 在發行第二張專輯The Bends後，他們在英國的受歡迎度增加。他們的第三張專輯OK Computer推進了他們在國際上的知名度。OK Computer常被稱最象徵1990年代的唱片之一。  
 
The Cure - Friday I'm in Love
The Cure are an English rock band formed in Crawley, West Sussex in 1976. The Cure first began releasing music in the late 1970s with its debut album Three Imaginary Boys (1979); this, along with several early singles, placed the band as part of the post-punk and New Wave movements that had sprung up in the wake of the punk rock revolution in the United Kingdom. During the early 1980s, the band's increasingly dark and tormented music helped form the gothic rock genre. 

這個英國搖滾團於1976年的West Sussex成立。在1970年代The Cure出了第一張專輯Three Imaginary Boys，後龐克跟new wave風格的曲風（new wave的解釋請點這裏，這是一種沒有中文能夠解釋的風格，new wave的人都很愛搞怪亂穿）帶動了龐克搖滾的創作革命。在1980年代初級，這個團越來越黑暗跟痛苦的曲風終於激發了哥德式搖滾的產生。
